Stock management
Know what is on the shelf, without counting it
Stock goes wrong quietly. A fast mover runs out on a Saturday, a slow mover ties up ten thousand rupees for a year, and nobody notices until stock-taking. Cartix records every movement in a ledger that cannot be quietly edited, so the shelf and the screen agree.
Know what’s selling. And what’s running out.
Every sale updates stock. Set reorder levels, follow expiry dates and count shelves from staff phones.

A catalogue that speaks your language
- Product names in English and Malayalam on the same item — with one-click translation, and bulk translate to ml, ta, hi, te, kn
- Pack sizes as sub-products with their own barcodes and prices — sell a strip out of a box
- Multiple barcodes on the same product
- Size × colour variant generator for textile — a whole matrix in one pass, straight into the label queue
- Bulk CSV import with per-row error reporting, plus full CSV export
- Spreadsheet-style bulk editor for mass price and detail changes
The stock ledger
- Every sale, purchase, return, adjustment and transfer is a ledger row — append-only
- Adjustments carry a reason (damage, opening, correction) and optional cost
- Full stock history per product — trace any shortage to the exact entry
- Stock value at cost and at selling price
Reports that surface problems
- Low-stock alerts on your own reorder levels
- Expiry report — what expires within the next N days, in time for supplier returns
- Stock aging report — the dead stock quietly eating your capital
Stock-take on staff phones
- Staff count shelves on their own phones through the staff portal
- Counts post back as audited stock with differences reported line by line
- Audit coverage report — which products were counted in the last 7, 15 or 30 days, and which were skipped
Branches & transfers
- Branch and warehouse locations, with a warehouse device mode that hides the sales UI entirely
- Transfer orders: create, dispatch (stock out), receive (stock in), cancel
- Serial-aware end to end — IMEI units are picked at dispatch and confirmed at receive
Questions people ask
How many products can Cartix handle?
There is no product limit in the licence and no per-product charge. The local database is built for supermarket-scale catalogues, and search stays instant because it runs on your own machine, not over the internet.
Can I sell a single strip from a box?
Yes. Set the box as the parent and the strip as a sub-product with its own barcode and price. Purchase in boxes, sell in strips, and both counts stay correct without a manual conversion entry.
How does stock counting on phones work?
You invite staff to the Cartix staff portal on their phones. They pick a shelf, count, and submit. The desktop shows every difference for approval, and the coverage report tells you which parts of the shop have not been counted recently — so the annual stock-taking panic becomes a rolling habit.
